Tentative Bylaws - 2018

Hey Awesome Fellow Members of AFT 6286!

It is time for nominations for four Executive Board positions:

• First Vice President
• Treasurer
• Vice President At Large
• Vice President At Large

You can view the duties for each of these positions at the end of this email.

There are just a few things you need to note:

•       All nominations must come from a member in good standing and must be for a member in good standing. * (You may nominate yourself);
•    A nominee must have been an AFT PTFU Local 6286 member for at least six (6) months;
•    You may choose one (1) nominee for each open position;

Dear Adjunct faculty,

I am very grateful that many of you have read the tentative agreement and are voicing your concerns for it! It is very important that we all make an informed decision that affects our employment at Victor Valley College.

It was my privilege to be a part of the negotiations team, and I know that the whole team, and Lynne Glickstein in particular, was tireless in advocating the very best for all our adjunct faculty. Please let me tell you of the strengths of our new contract and address your concerns:

Hello all you awesome and essential fellow part-time faculty! 

       We all hope your semester is going great! Can you believe we are in week ten already!  

       We didn’t need to send out ballots for our election this year because we only had one person nominated for each position. The election results were as follows:  

• 1st VP: Dorothy Reina 
• Treasurer: Josh Briggs 
• VP at Large: Lauren Golder 
• VP at Large: Valerie Morales 

We are so happy that Valerie Morales is on our board now! She is a member of the counseling department, so we are so glad to have a voice from that department on our board.
